OPPO’s online-only sub-brand “Realme”, has launched its first smartphone in India – Realme 1. It comes with an impressive specs sheet at a very competitive price. The handset will witness its first sale on May 25 via Amazon.in.
Realme 1 Specs and Features
Realme 1 sports a 6-inch Full HD+ display of 18:9 aspect ratio. The diamond pattern design on the rear lends a premium feel to the handset, similar to OPPO F7. It runs Android 8.1-based ColorOS 5.0.
Processing duties are handled by a very capable Helio P60 SoC, an octa-core CPU. It is coupled with 6 Gigabytes of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Best in the price segment.
There’s a lot of AI in the marketing of Realme 1. First off, there’s some clever AI management of the chipset for better performance. Then there’s AI battery management that suspends background apps for improved power efficiency.
Finally, there’s AI Shot for the camera, which has the usual bells and whistles like software portrait mode, AR stickers, beauty mode and scene recognition.
There’s Face Unlock too, which uses the 8MP front-facing camera. There’s no fingerprint scanner though.
The main camera is a 13MP snapper, located on the back.
Realme 1 features a dedicated slot for micro-SD card, meaning you can have 2 sims and a micro-SD card at the same time. It will come in Diamond Black and Solar Red. The 3GB/32 GB RAM/Storage variant will be made available later for Rs. 8,990.
