After featuring in countless leaks, Nokia X6 has finally arrived. This is the first smartphone in X-series after the HMD Global reboot. Let’s dig into the details and find out what HMD has on offer.
Nokia X6 Specifications and Price
With 95% glass coverage and metal sides, Nokia X6 screams premium out of the box. It features a 5.8-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer on top.
Nokia X6 is the first offering from Nokia with a notched display. The notch houses a 16MP front-facing snapper with f/2.0 aperture and face unlock capabilities. Fret not, a fingerprint reader is present on the back.
Just above the fingerprint scanner, you will find the dual-camera setup of 12 MP and 5 MP. One is a standard RGB sensor with f/2.0 aperture, while other is a monochrome one with f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras are aided by some nifty AI tricks – background blur, face recognition, dynamic expression, and filters.
Underneath the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC is in charge of processing duties with 4 or 6 Gigs of RAM. Depending on the RAM variant, storage stands at 32 GB or 64 GB. The storage can be expanded via a hybrid slot.
All this is powered by 3,060 mAh battery capable of Quick Charge 3.0 speeds. The OS behind it all is Android 8.1 Oreo and the phone is promised to receive an update to Android P.
The Nokia X6 will go on sale in China on May 21 starting at CNY1,299 ($204) for the most modest 4GB/32GB variant. The 4GB/64GB version is CNY1,449 ($236), while 6GB/64GB will set you back CNY1,699 ($266). As far as the color options are concerned, you can buy the X6 in blue, black and silver.
International availability details are still sparse. We will update this space once more info surfaces.
