HTC has teased a new smartphone launch on May 23, and in most likelihood, it will be HTC U12+. The Taiwanese manufacturer has lent some creativity to the teaser by sharing the photo of smartphone components. There are rumors of U12 joining the ring, but nothing’s confirmed as of now.
HTC U12+ May 23 Launch
The components image shares plenty of fine details. One can easily notice two small camera modules near the top, likely the front camera. And then there are two bigger modules (to the left and to the right), this should combine to form the main camera.
But then there are two more components with ribbon cables and what seems to an LED. Six cameras? Probably not, but the HTC U12+ suddenly became more interesting.
As far as the rumors go, HTC U12+ will rock a 12 MP + 16 MP UltraPixel rear camera (with f/1.5 aperture). Whereas on the front camera you will have a dual setup of 8 MP + 8 MP. Both should have OIS.
There’s a card tray on the left, a dual hybrid tray so we know the microSD card slot is safe and sound. Sadly, the headphone jack is missing in the picture, but the USB Type-C can be found on the right.
You can also spot the SoC in the picture – all rumors point to Snapdragon 845 chipset. The screen (not pictured) will have a 5.5” diagonal and QHD+ resolution.
All this will be powered by a 3,420 mAh battery.
